Circa 1900 Navajo Germantown sampler weaving, still mounted on its original wooden loom. Small samplers were often left on the loom to display both the weaver’s design work and the construction of the warp. A large stepped diamond anchors the center, framed by serrated bands in red, orange, and purple, with small geometric elements across the upper and lower fields. The remaining warp threads and wooden loom provide a rare view of the Navajo weaving process.
