Shalako and Friends

Hopi multi-figure Kachina intricately hand-carved from cottonwood root by Paul Sewemaenewa, featuring Shalako, Mudhead (Koyemsi), and Grandmother (Hahai Wuhti) Kachinas on a single base. Shalako is associated with important ceremonial cycles, Koyemsi are known as clown figures who participate in ritual life, and Hahai Wuhti is a grandmother figure.
