Navajo Ganado Weaving

Ganado Weaving handwoven by Navajo (Diné) weaver, Polly Curley. The weaving features a detailed geometric composition centered on two radiating diamond motifs. The intricate design is woven in deep red, black, gray, and white hues. The weaving won a first place ribbon at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial.

The Ganado Red style developed around the Hubbell Trading Post, where Lorenzo Hubbell encouraged Navajo weavers to use the rich red backgrounds and geometric designs that became characteristic of the regional style.
