Navajo Burntwater Weaving
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
Item #WN02802
Navajo Burntwater weaving in vegetal-dyed tans, browns, and soft blues with accents of rose. Intricately woven, two stacked diamond medallions run down the center, each with a dark cross design at its heart, surrounded by layered serrated diamonds and hooked elements, with stepped grey panels along the sides. The design is framed by a wide border of detailed stepped motifs. Handwoven by Elverna Vanwinkle, she included her initials in the lower right corner.
