Handwoven Paiute “Tus” water basket by Paiute artist Richard Graymountain. Traditionally used for carrying and storing water, the tightly woven basket is coated with piñon pitch to seal the surface. Its rounded olla form is finished with a braided carrying handle and accompanied by a natural gourd ladle.

About the artist
