Double Storm Pattern Runner Weaving
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
Item #WN02807
Navajo Double Storm Pattern runner in tan, brown, rust, white, and grey on a black background, framed by a fine zigzag border. Two Storm designs are stacked along the length, each with stepped tan lightning lines connecting a central box to serrated corner boxes, accented by stylized feather motifs and water bugs. In Storm Pattern weavings, the center is often associated with the Lake of Emergence, connected by lightning to the four sacred mountains of the Diné at the corners. Handwoven by Navajo weaver Sarah Tisi.
