Navajo Storm Pattern Weaving
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
Item #C02014
Navajo Storm Pattern weaving in red, ivory, brown, and grey on a light grey background, framed by a black border with a serrated zigzag band. Stepped red lightning lines extend from the central design to the corners, accented by stylized feather motifs, diamond elements, and water bugs. In Storm Pattern weavings, the center is often associated with the Lake of Emergence, connected by lightning to the four sacred mountains of the Diné at the corners. Handwoven by Navajo artist, Louise McCabe.
