Masau’u Kachina with Corn Boy
Tribe: Hopi
Item #HK01913
Hand-carved and painted New-Style Masau’u Kachina with Corn Boy below, carved by Eric Roy from cottonwood root. Masau’u is a powerful Hopi figure often associated with the earth, death, fire, transformation, and the passage between worlds. His presence can suggest transition, renewal, and the responsibilities tied to living properly within the world. This detailed carving pairs Masau’u with a smaller Corn Boy figure, connecting themes of change, emergence, agriculture, and new life.
