Navajo Coral and Turquoise Jacla Earrings
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
Item #ER12052
Navajo Sterling Silver French Hook Earrings in the traditional Jacla style, each a loop of graduated Coral beads accented with Turquoise beads, with a larger Coral bead at the base. Handcrafted by Navajo artist, Morris Muskett.
Jaclas take their name from the Navajo word for "ear string." Loops of turquoise and shell beads were traditionally worn as earrings, and were later tied to the bottom of a strand necklace when not being worn, a style still seen on traditional Navajo necklaces today.
