This solid 14k gold cuff by Victor Coochwytewa (1922–2011) features an intricate overlaid depiction of the Hopi One-Horn and Two-Horn Priests—sacred ceremonial figures associated with judgment, transition, and spiritual balance. These beings serve as guardians and guides between the physical and spiritual worlds, appearing in key Hopi rituals to uphold harmony and cosmic order.

On each side of the central figures, the bracelet showcases detailed pueblo scenes: stacked Hopi homes with traditional stepped architecture, a kiva ladder rising from a ceremonial chamber, and a nighttime sky filled with stars and a crescent moon. These elements evoke a deep sense of place, reflecting the sacred geography and cultural rhythms of Hopi village life.

Crafted in the 1990s, this piece exemplifies Coochwytewa’s mastery of overlay technique—executed entirely in gold. An internationally celebrated master of Hopi overlay, Coochwytewa is regarded as one of the most influential Native American jewelers of the 20th century, with works held in museum collections across the country.

Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this bracelet has never been previously owned.
