Hopi Polychrome Jar
Tribe: Hopi
Hopi pottery jar by Neva Nampeyo, featuring a classic Sikyatki-revival design with interlocking bird wing and feather motifs arranged in a continuous flowing pattern around the vessel. The composition is finely executed with precise linework, crosshatching, and strong contrast between the natural clay body and dark painted elements, accented by a warm red band at the shoulder. The form is well balanced with a rounded body and short neck, consistent with traditional Hopi jar shapes. Hand coiled and traditionally fired. Signed on the underside, “Neva P. Nampeyo.”
