1920s Acoma Pueblo pottery vase, traditionally hand-coiled, painted with natural mineral pigments, and fired outdoors. The vessel features a rounded body, tall flaring neck, and two applied handles, with finely painted geometric and plant-inspired designs over a cream-colored slip.

Tall-necked handled vessels emerged as an inventive variation of traditional Acoma pottery around the turn of the 20th century. These forms reflect how Acoma potters adapted their ancestral materials and techniques for the growing Southwestern collector market while maintaining a distinctly Pueblo character.

7.5” Width, 8.25” Height

Condition: Surface wear, abrasions, and minor pigment loss throughout, particularly along the rim and handles, consistent with age.
