1980s Hopi Bowl
Tribe: Hopi
1980s miniature Hopi-Tewa pottery bowl by Bessie Namoki (1922–2010). Hand-coiled from native clay, traditionally fired, and hand-painted with polychrome mineral and vegetal pigments. The rounded bowl features repeating geometric and abstract bird-inspired designs in deep brown and muted red against a warm golden slip. Signed “Bessie Namoki” on the base.
The bowl exhibits light surface rubbing and pigment loss consistent with age.
