1920s Squash Blossom Necklace
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
Early Navajo sterling silver naja necklace dating to the 1920s. A small natural American turquoise cabochon is set within the openwork double-arch naja, which is finished with stamped sunburst terminals. Large handmade sterling silver beads restrung on metal foxtail. Technically a naja necklace rather than a full squash blossom necklace, it is an early example of the form.
