Coral and Gold Necklace
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
This extraordinary nine-strand necklace showcases vibrant Mediterranean coral beads accented with natural turquoise, lapis, fossilized ivory, sugilite, and pink coral. Interspersed throughout are 14k gold spacer beads that add a warm luster and elegance. Each strand of coral joins into 14k gold cones that transition into beautifully hand-rolled beads composed of the same natural materials. The turquoise is all natural, with stones sourced from renowned mines including Carico Lake, Lone Mountain, Red Mountain, and Royston. The necklace is finished with a custom 14k gold clasp connected by a finely crafted arrowhead detail.
Created in 2012 by award-winning Navajo jeweler Boyd Tsosie (b. 1954), this necklace is a stunning example of his artistry and a standout piece from his distinguished career.
