Item #PP07070

Sterling silver dog tag with a woman’s profile titled “Ecke,” the Mvskoke (Creek) word for mother.

The design also appears in Johnson’s 2025 sculpture “ECKE — Mother Ground” in Macon, Georgia, the ancestral homeland of the Muscogee (Creek) before their forced removal. Johnson explained, “The woman’s face alludes to our mother ground here, and the flames on its base represent the fires that went out from here and people who still exist today, alive and vibrant with a sense of fire burning within us.”

The pendant hangs from a twisted wire bail on a 25” sterling silver chain. By Mvskoke (Creek)/Seminole artist Kenneth Johnson.
