Elder Planting Seeds Buckle

Sterling silver overlay belt buckle by renowned Hopi silversmith Ricky Coochwytewa. The design features a Hopi elder kneeling with a planting stick, placing seeds into the earth. In front of him rises a pahos (prayer feather) mound, representing offerings for rain and a bountiful harvest.

Made in the late 1990s and signed on the reverse with Ricky Coochwytewa’s hallmark and the Kopavi stamp. From the historic Kopavi Collection.
