Sunface Kachina

Hand-carved from cottonwood root and hand painted by Hopi artist Tawma Lalo, this Sunface (Dawa) Kachina represents the spirit of the sun, an important source of life, warmth, and the seasonal cycles that sustain the Hopi people.

Old-style Kachinas are traditionally made for hanging, and this carving includes a loop on the back for wall display.
