Pixie

The Pixie mine is a lesser-known Nevada turquoise mine in the Crescent Valley area, near other well-known deposits such as Fox, Orvil Jack, and Carico Lake. Though not as famous as some neighboring mines, Pixie has produced attractive turquoise in blue, blue-green, green, and even lime green shades. The mine is especially associated with green material and has long been appreciated by collectors who enjoy Nevada’s more unusual color ranges.

Documented production from Pixie appears to have been fairly limited, and available material is not common on the market today. Because of that limited output and its distinctive green tones, Pixie remains an interesting and collectible mine name, particularly for those drawn to the lesser-known turquoise sources of Nevada.
