Navajo artist, Natasha Peshlakai was born in the 1980s. She collaborated with her father, Norbert Peshlakai, a well known silversmith. He taught her the basics, such as: simple stamp work, how to use true torch for soldering, sand casting and how to “keep the ideas flowing.” She began working with jewelry at the age of 12 and her first piece, a pair of bunny earrings, earned a second-place ribbon at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1993.

Natasha made silversmithing her full time career, and she continued to receive recognition for her work in Native American jewelry. Natasha's pieces exhibited the high standards and exacting craftsmanship for which her family was already well known.  Her father continued to be her mentor throughout her career, and they enjoy worked on different projects together.

Natasha's husband was Ben Haley, who was also an artist from a well-known family of silversmiths. Together they have a son and live in New Mexico.

Sadly, Natasha passed away April, 2019. She will be dearly missed!
