1970s Hopi Coil Basket

1960s Hopi coiled basket woven from yucca and beargrass and colored with natural dyes. featuring a broad, shallow form and a bold four-part geometric design radiating from the center. The pattern is worked in cream, yellow, dark brown, and muted red, with stepped and banded elements arranged symmetrically around the basket.

The basket is tightly coiled with a wrapped rim and a small woven loop for hanging. The natural variation in the yucca and beargrass, together with the softened colors, gives the piece an attractive vintage appearance.
