Hopi Overlay Parrot Belt Buckle

Hopi sterling silver overlay belt buckle by Philbert Poseyesva, featuring a stylized parrot design rendered in flowing, curvilinear forms. Deeply textured and oxidized recessed areas create strong contrast with the polished silver surface, emphasizing the movement and detail of the composition.

The buckle is stamped “Sterling” and bears Philbert Poseyesva’s hallmark. Poseyesva is a recognized Hopi silversmith who trained in the traditional overlay technique through the Hopi Silvercraft Cooperative Guild. His work has been exhibited at institutions including the Eiteljorg Museum, Southwest Museum, and Gilcrease Museum.
