Turquoise Starblower Cuff
Tribe: Hopi
Sterling silver overlay cuff bracelet by renowned Hopi silversmith Victor Coochwytewa (1922 - 2011), featuring a large, natural turquoise stone from the Turquoise Mountain mine in Arizona. The turquoise is bordered by Coochwytewa’s signature “Starblower” figures, spiritual beings who create stars through music and light. Each figure raises a flute to the sky, from which stylized stars emerge, symbolizing the act of populating the heavens with starlight. The design is deeply oxidized to enhance the intricate detail and contrast, emphasizing the spiritual narrative and masterful craftsmanship. Stamped with Victor Coochwytewa’s rain cloud hallmark and the Kopavi flute player.
