Rectangular Sterling Silver “Man in the Maze” Belt Buckle made by Hopi silversmith, Sharold Nutumya in 2010. This bold design features the iconic “Man in the Maze” motif, symbolizing life’s journey, choices, and the path to spiritual understanding. Crafted using the traditional Hopi overlay technique, Nutumya creates strong contrast between the deeply oxidized background and the high-polish surface, bringing clarity and depth to the maze. The figure at the top represents the beginning of life, with the winding path leading inward toward self-discovery and harmony.

This piece is featured on page 105 of Hopi Gold Hopi Silver by Zena Pearlstone, highlighting its significance. Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this buckle has never been previously owned.
