Hand-Carved and Painted Hopi Crow Mother (Angwusnasomtaka) Kachina. Old-style Kachinas are traditionally made for hanging, and this carving includes a loop on the back for wall display.

The Crow Mother Kachina, is a revered matriarch and protector of children. As the mother of all kachinas, she plays a central role in initiation ceremonies, guiding and nurturing the young as they enter the spiritual life of the Hopi.
