Wide Ruins

Wide Ruins weaving by Diné weaver Brenda Spencer, featuring finely woven banded designs, diamond motifs, and Spencer’s distinctive wavy line pattern. Her wave designs are especially difficult to execute, creating the appearance of flowing curvilinear movement through careful manipulation of diagonal lines, weft counts, and tension while weaving. Woven with natural wool colors and vegetal dyes, including walnut for brown, wild carrot for orange, juniper for green, and indigo for blue.
