1910 Fourth Phase Pictorial Chief Blanket

1910 Navajo Fourth Phase Pictorial Chief Blanket woven with horizontal bands in cream and black-brown. The darker bands enclose arrow motifs, overlaid overall with nine whole and partial serrated diamonds. The central diamonds incorporate distinctive bird figures, adding a rare pictorial element to this traditional format. This weaving shows areas of old repair and darning consistent with its age.
