1940s Butterfly Pin

1940s Zuni butterfly pin, finely handmade in sterling silver with stone-to-stone inlay of natural American turquoise, spiny oyster shell, jet, and mother of pearl. The butterfly design is framed with silver raindrop appliqué and twisted wire antennae. A beautiful example of early Zuni figural inlay work, representing the butterfly as a symbol of transformation and renewal.
