Navajo Ganado Weaving

Ganado Weaving handwoven by Navajo (Diné) weaver, Lorraine Tso. The weaving features a sharp and bold geometric design in deep red, black, gray, and white. 

The Ganado Red style developed around the Hubbell Trading Post, where Lorenzo Hubbell encouraged Navajo weavers to use the rich red backgrounds and bold geometric designs that became characteristic of the regional style. The style became one of the most recognizable Navajo weaving traditions of the trading-post era.
