1920s Hupa Lidded Basket

1920s Hupa lidded basket from Northern California, finely handwoven in a rounded form with a fitted lid and raised woven finial. Contrasting natural, reddish-brown, and dark plant fibers, including bear grass and maidenhair fern, form bold geometric designs across the body and lid, while an openwork band accents the lid’s edge.

4” Diameter, 3.5” Depth

Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear, minor stitch loss and fraying, and some distortion along the lid edge. The basket body remains structurally sound.
