Platinum and Gold Eagle Pendant
Tribe: Hopi
Platinum Eagle in Flight over an 18k Gold Eagle Feather and Diamond-Set Medicine Wheel Pendant. This striking pendant hangs from a 22” 18k gold braided chain. The eagle is a messenger of prayer and protector of people. Below the soaring eagle, the feather represents prayer, while the Hopi medicine wheel—set with 21 natural diamonds—evokes balance among the four sacred directions and life’s spiritual journey.
Crafted circa 2005 by Hopi jeweler John Coochyumptewa, a member of the Tobacco Clan, who signs his work with a stylized tobacco leaf. Coochyumptewa used eagles frequently in his designs. He was affectionately known as “Eagle Boy”. This museum-worthy piece features both his hallmark and the Kopavi Mark. This piece is featured on pages 22 and 129 of Hopi Gold Hopi Silver by Zena Pearlstone, highlighting its significance.
Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this necklace has never been previously owned.
