1940s Navajo Ganado Red weaving, handwoven from handspun wool in natural gray, black, and ivory, with a rich red aniline-dyed field. Bold geometric medallions and serrated elements create a balanced composition with strong visual movement.

Ganado Red weavings are closely associated with the Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado, Arizona. Beginning in the late 19th century, trader Juan Lorenzo Hubbell encouraged local Navajo weavers to develop distinctive designs using deep red fields, strong central motifs, and contrasting natural wool colors. The resulting Ganado style became one of the most recognizable traditions in Navajo weaving.
