Navajo Coral Sunface Pendant

Navajo sterling silver Sunface Kachina pendant by Toby Henderson, featuring a highly dimensional figural design accented with a natural red coral cabochon. The Sunface is framed by an elaborate radiating headdress composed of individually formed and hand-stamped silver feathers, with additional applied silverwork throughout the body and a hand-stamped bail.

The fine feather detailing was created with individual hammer strikes, requiring hundreds of stamped impressions to build the dense texture and pattern across the headdress. Henderson was especially known for this kind of sculptural Kachina jewelry, combining complex construction with exceptionally detailed handwork.

Toby Henderson was a Navajo silversmith known for elaborate figural silverwork, particularly Kachinas and ceremonial figures. He passed away in 2019. The pendant is signed “TH” and stamped “Handmade Sterling Navajo.”
