Cloud Maiden Kachina

Hand-Carved and Painted Hopi Cumulus Cloud Maiden (Tukwinong Mana) Kachina Holding a Bowl of Corn. She is the female counterpart, sister, or companion of the Cumulus Cloud Katsina (Tukwinong), a cloud-being associated with bringing heavy summer rains to nourish the crops.

In Hopi tradition, the Cumulus Cloud Kachinas represent the large thunderclouds that build during the summer monsoon season, connected to to rain, fertility, and agricultural abundance.
