1930s Crystal
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
1930s Navajo Crystal weaving featuring a classic elongated diamond medallion set within a wide stepped border. The central dark field is framed by bold ivory outlines and flanked by arrows, stepped motifs, and geometric elements rendered in natural wool colors with accents of red aniline dye. The background shows the characteristic soft gray-brown tones associated with Crystal weavings of this period. Handwoven with handspun wool, the design is balanced and graphic, with strong symmetry and clear regional influence. There is some edge wear and damage consistent with age, which has been taken into account in pricing and does not detract from the overall visual impact of the piece.
