Gold Mudhead Pendant

14k Gold Pendant with Hopi Overlaid Mudhead Design. This pendant is on a 20” 14k gold braided chain. Mudheads are categorized as Clown Kachinas. Clowns represent human folly. As we laugh at their outrageous antics, we recognize that behavior in ourselves and learn from their questionable behavior.  

This pendant was crafted in the 1990s by award-winning Hopi artist, Phillip Honanie (1950-2017). Signed with Honanie’s hallmark, the Kopavi mark, and marked 14k.

Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this pendant has never been previously owned.
