1930s Ganado
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
1930s Navajo Ganado weaving with a saturated red background and a stacked diamond medallion executed in ivory, charcoal, and black. The center design is flanked by stepped geometric elements and small accent motifs that punctuate the open field. The restrained palette and bold contrast are characteristic of early Ganado weavings from this period. Woven with handspun wool using natural wool colors and bright red aniline dye.
