1960s turquoise jaclas from a Navajo collection, strung with hand-rolled natural American turquoise beads, shell accents, and red glass trade beads. The turquoise shows varied blue-green color with natural matrix. Traditionally, jaclas were worn as ear strings and later became popular as pendant-like additions to Navajo and Pueblo bead necklaces. This pair has a classic form with looped cord suspension, red trade bead tops, turquoise heishi-style strands, and pale shell tabs at the ends.
