One Horn Priest Pendant
Tribe: Hopi
Sterling Silver Hopi Overlay Pendant and Chain featuring the One Horn Priest figure, created by master silversmith Phillip Honanie in 1982 as part of his Emergence Jewelry series. The One Horn Priest is one of the most powerful and revered figures in Hopi culture. He is a member of the One Horn Society, which is charged with caring for the dead and guiding their spirits to the underworld. Serving as an intermediary between the living and the deceased, the One Horn is the spiritual âright hand manâ of MÄasaw, the deity appointed by the Creator to oversee the Fourth World. This pendant is rendered in bold overlay style with deep texturing and crisp geometry, hung from a handmade 20-inch Hopi link chain.
Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this piece has never been previously owned.
