Masterfully crafted by Hopi artist Victor Coochwytewa in 1978, this sterling silver overlay bracelet features a striking depiction of a Mudhead (Koyemsi) Kachina, a beloved figure in Hopi culture known for humor and ceremonial roles. The design includes stylized rising suns that notably omit the Tawa Sunface, representing both sunrise and prayer feather mounds. The sides of the bracelet include detailed Hopi pueblo scenes with stacked houses nestled into cliff formations. A remarkable example of Coochwytewa’s work, blending traditional Hopi symbolism with his refined overlay technique.

This piece is featured on page 58 of Hopi Gold Hopi Silver by Zena Pearlstone, highlighting its significance. Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this bracelet has never been previously owned.
