1900 Hubbell Ganado Red
Tribe: Navajo (Diné)
Antique Navajo weaving, circa 1900, with a bold red background, stepped cross motifs, and a strong geometric border. This piece is a classic example of the Ganado Red style associated with the Ganado Trading Post, where Lorenzo Hubbell encouraged large homespun wool weavings with red fields, strong contrast, and cross-based designs in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Woven with handspun native wool, this rug has excellent visual presence and remains in excellent condition.
