Robert specializes in traditional jewelry, and he excels in silver casting and stamp work.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eRobert was born in 1952 at home. There were 10 children in the family, and Robert was number nine!\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.4;\"\u003eRobert’s father worked as a silversmith for the old Mike \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.4;\"\u003eKirk Trading Post.\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.4;\"\u003eRobert has fond memories of growing up there, lots of hiking \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.4;\"\u003ein the mountains and arroyos. They would also ride horses.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHe is related to famous Navajo jeweler Harry Morgan, his first cousin, with whom he apprenticed under.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eThey grew up together living under the same roof, and in the early days they lived in a hogan (traditional Navajo 8-sided home). Their mothers were sisters. The Navajo are a matriarchal society, and he had a strong upbringing in the traditional ways especially due to having two mothers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eRobert has two children of his own, but they are not interested in taking up silversmithing.
