His parents, Richard and Gladys Kagenveama, were very prominent artists. His mother, Gladys is considered one of the top Hopi coil basket weavers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBennett’s jewelry exudes a level of intricate detail not seen in other Hopi overlay jewelry. He created his jewelry by overlaying multiple layers of silver and finished with delicate oxidation and intricate hand texturing. This interesting contrast in the textures of his silverwork is what really makes his work stand out. Bennett specialized in the Kachina designs, including dance scenes with kivas and pueblos in the background. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBennett passed away in 2025. Beyond being a wonderful artist, he was a friend who we will greatly miss. Bennett was a soft spoken, humble, and very kind man.
